This presentation is for groups of 6 or more who are wanting a basic introduction into this topic with a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and explore its possibilities in a community context.

It is designed for church groups,community groups, hospitals, hospice organizations, intentional communities, civic groups, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, college campuses, assosciations, clubs, and any other larger group who desires a chance to explore this topic in a simple yet comprehensive way

II. Re-Thinking and Re-Creating How We are Cared for at Death

$100/person 6 Hr Workshop for Families and Community Groups

Designed to prepare a family, community group or congregation to skillfully, gracefully conduct a home and family directed funeral.

This 6 hour workshop presents the legalities and logistics of planning and conducting a home funeral. The topics discussed include:the right to the disposition of the body, filing of the death certificate, transportation of the body, caring for the body, lying in honor, memorial services, cost comparisons vs. standard funerals, caskets, cremations, burials, out of town deaths, community support, and special cases and considerations.

This workshop can take place at either my home or the location of your choice.If you are interested in learning more about home wake and funeral option, please discuss this amongst your family, friends or community to form a workshop group of 6-8 participants then call to schedule a time and place and discuss the specific details of your groups accommodation needs.

This workshop will present:

*the legalities of conducting a home funeral

*the logistics of conducting a home funeral

*opportunity to view documentaryt video footage of home wakes and family funerals that have taken place in the U.S.

*a historical overview of the development of the funeral industry in America

*a presentation on natural burial and cremation options including local resources

*a discussion on the diverse cultural/religious perspectives

*practical guidance in how to elicit meaningful community participation and expression

*a chance to share your stories, ideas and/or concerns around this important sensitive topic so we can, as a community, begin to creatively engage and support each other, as we reclaim our active role in natural death care.

*you will also recieve the necessary legal documents and a fill in a blank "Last Wishes" workbook to help get your wishes in writing.

*There is a 10% discount for all participants of the same family
